This first-generation Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe in .300 Win. Mag. pairs early Howa-made construction with the classic Weatherby Deluxe aesthetic. The receiver carries the South Gate, California marking that denotes early production, and the receiver is stamped "PAT. PEND." (on the left rail beneath the scope base).
The rifle features a polished blued 24-inch sporter barrel with a recessed crown and a high-gloss walnut Monte Carlo stock with signature rosewood accents. A Conetrol one-piece bridge base with 1-inch rings is installed, ready for your optic of choice.
Built on the Japanese Howa push-feed Vanguard action, it uses dual-opposed locking lugs, an M16-style extractor, and a plunger ejector. This setup is known for smooth cycling and strong primary lockup. The internal box magazine with a hinged floorplate provides a magnum capacity of 3+1.
The stock showcases Weatherby’s Deluxe features: a Monte Carlo comb with cheekpiece, rosewood forend tip and grip cap with white/black line spacers, and a white diamond inlay in the grip cap. Cut, point-pattern checkering provides secure purchase, and a ventilated Pachmayr White Line recoil pad caps the butt. Length of pull is 13.75 inches, and QD sling studs are fitted.
The polished blued steel barrel has no iron sights and wears a sporter profile for a balanced carry. Safety is a two-position manual safety. Receiver and barrel markings include "MADE IN JAPAN" and "SOUTH GATE, CALIFORNIA"; the receiver is also stamped "PAT. PEND."
