The Original Golden series 39A uses a lever-action takedown receiver with a large takedown screw, allowing the rifle to separate into two major assemblies. This example is marked "ORIGINAL GOLDEN-39A" and carries the JM proof, indicating traditional Marlin manufacture in North Haven, Connecticut.
The 24 inch steel Micro-Groove barrel is paired with a full-length tubular magazine for a 19+1 capacity in .22 LR. The barrel and receiver wear a classic blued finish, and the rifle retains its factory hooded front sight and an adjustable rear barrel sight with elevator.
Factory wood is walnut throughout, including a smooth fore-end capped with steel and a pistol-grip buttstock featuring a grip cap and white-line spacers. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches.
A slim Weaver 22-A rimfire scope is installed in tip-off rings, and a hammer spur extension is fitted for easy cocking with the optic in place. The setup is complemented by a leather sling and Weaver lens caps.
