The XD-40 Sub-Compact features a 3-inch hammer-forged barrel and a steel slide with a durable black Melonite/nitride finish. The polymer frame keeps weight down while providing an integrated accessory rail for lights or similar add-ons.
Trijicon tritium night sights are installed front and rear, marked "H3 11." These glow-in-the-dark sights provide a consistent, easy-to-acquire sight picture in low-light conditions and are a practical upgrade for daily carry.
