Built to commemorate Marlin’s first 100 years, the Century Limited pairs time-honored Model 39 engineering with distinctive anniversary trim. The gold-tone medallion in the receiver and the brass stock plate marked "39 CENTURY LTD." identify it as the 1870–1970 centennial edition, produced only in 1970.
The rifle features a 20-inch steel octagonal barrel that currently presents bright/in-the-white (bluing absent/removed), while the receiver and outer magazine tube retain a blued finish, complemented by brass furniture at the forend cap and buttplate. The straight-grip walnut stock and smooth walnut forearm maintain the clean, traditional lines of the Model 39, while the square lever loop and gold-colored trigger add period-correct detail.
Functionally, it retains the classic takedown system with a thumbscrew on the right side of the receiver for easy separation. The full-length tubular magazine uses a knurled inner-tube cap and loading port, and the barrel is marked "Cal. 22 S, L & LR." Sights are an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and a ramped bead front for a clear, practical sight picture.
Capacity is stated at 15+1. Length of pull measures 13.0 inches. This rifle was made in the USA in 1970 for the Century Limited series. A screw-on hammer spur extension is installed for enhanced leverage on the hammer.
