Built on the AR-15 platform, the Honey Badger SBR is chambered in .300 AAC Blackout (7.62x35mm) and uses a 7-inch, 5/8-24 threaded barrel with a fast 1:5 twist. The pistol-length gas system is tuned for the caliber and barrel length.
The rifle uses Q's proprietary compact recoil system and two-piece carrier to achieve its short overall package. The slick-side upper omits a forward assist and dust cover, and the upper is marked "HONEY BADGER" and "300BLK".
Controls and handling are modern and ambidextrous where it matters. It includes an ambidextrous safety selector with pictogram markings and a Radian Raptor-HB ambidextrous charging handle. A two-stage trigger and Magpul pistol grip round out the fire control and grip interface.
The PDW-type stock is adjustable, non-folding, and features a textured buttplate. A QD sling socket is integrated into the rear of the lower receiver. Up front, the free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard has M-LOK slots along the 12 o'clock with a short forward 1913 Picatinny section for accessory mounting, while the upper receiver carries a 1913 Picatinny top rail.
