What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 629-2 "Mountain Lion" Ellett Brothers Exclusive revolver
This limited edition was produced as an Ellett Brothers exclusive and capped at just 500 units. The sideplate is factory-engraved with a mountain-lion scene and marked "320 of 500," and the barrel carries the "MOUNTAIN LION" legend. These distributor-marked features were applied at the factory and set this example apart from standard production 629-2 revolvers.
Built on the stainless N-frame, this 629-2 is chambered in .44 Rem Magnum with a six-shot fluted cylinder. It wears a 4-inch stainless steel barrel with an under-barrel shroud and a serrated top rib, combining durability with fast sight alignment. The smooth, uncheckered hardwood stocks maintain a classic, clean profile.
Sighting equipment includes a ramped, pinned front sight and an adjustable rear sight with a serrated leaf. Controls are configured for double-action/single-action use with a smooth-face trigger and an exposed hammer featuring a wide, checkered spur. A knurled ejector-rod tip aids positive extraction.
As a -2 engineering revision, this revolver is pre-MIM and pre–internal-lock, incorporating the radius-stud and revised hammer-nose bushing. It is clearly marked "M629-2" and bears factory markings including "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS." with the S&W Trade Mark logo. The year of manufacture is 1989.
