This Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Compact AOS is the 3.5" aluminum-frame double-stack model chambered in 9mm. It combines a DLC-coated match bull, bushingless barrel with a forged carbon-steel slide, a 7075-T6 aluminum frame with polymer grip module, and the Agency Optic System (AOS) slide cut. Tritium front and serrated rear irons, ambidextrous safeties, and a flared magwell round out a compact package that measures 7.0" OAL and weighs 25.5 oz unloaded.

The Compact AOS configuration pairs a forged carbon-steel slide with a 3.5" DLC-coated, match-grade bull barrel. The bushingless setup and enlarged ejection port reflect Springfield Armory's focus on reliable function in a compact 1911 DS format.
Its billet 7075-T6 aluminum frame keeps weight down while the polymer grip module provides an aggressive molded texture and a flared magwell for confident control and quicker magazine changes. The compact-length dustcover integrates a Picatinny/1913 accessory rail.
The Agency Optic System features a dedicated AOS slide cut with a removable cover plate, and this pistol includes AOS mounting plates. Iron sights consist of a tritium front post and a serrated rear sight for a crisp sight picture under varied lighting.
Controls and fire-control parts include ambidextrous thumb safeties, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, a skeletonized three-hole trigger, and a skeletonized commander-style spur hammer. The double-stack DS architecture offers a 15+1 capacity in 9mm within a compact, 1.4" wide profile.
Prodigy series pistols debuted in 2022, with the aluminum-frame Compact variants announced January 15, 2025. This example is the PH9115AOS model and comes with two 15-round magazines and useful extras noted above.
