What’s Included
- Sig Sauer MCX-SPEAR 7.62×51 NATO rifle
- Two 20-round Magpul PMAG LR/SR Gen M3 polymer magazines (7.62×51)
This MCX-SPEAR uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, delivering consistent cycling across conditions. A two-position gas valve lets the user tune the rifle for normal or suppressed operation, adding practical flexibility without changing parts.
Ergonomics and control are central to this configuration. It provides fully ambidextrous controls including the safety selector and bolt catch, plus dual charging options: a rear AR-style handle and a left-side non-reciprocating charging handle. These features support efficient manipulation from either shoulder.
The rifle’s barrel is threaded and fitted with a three-prong flash hider, and it sits under a free-floating aluminum M-LOK handguard for accessory mounting while maintaining barrel independence. A full-length MIL-STD-1913 top rail runs across the coyote-tan aluminum receivers and handguard.
The side-folding stock uses a 1913-interface hinge and offers adjustable length of pull. Thanks to the robust internal recoil system, the MCX-SPEAR can be fired with the stock folded. The platform accepts SR-25/LR-308 pattern magazines, and this example includes two 20-round PMAGs.
Built in the USA and finished in coyote tan across the receivers, handguard, stock, and grip, this recent-release MCX-SPEAR reflects the model lineage tied to the U.S. Army XM7 program while delivering a 20+1 capacity in 7.62 NATO from a 16-inch barrel.
