Built on the robust N-frame with a square-butt grip frame, this Model 27-2 carries the hallmark features that define the series: a pinned barrel and recessed cylinder, a high-polish blued finish, and a finely checkered topstrap and barrel rib to cut glare. The 5-inch tapered barrel with a partial ejector-rod shroud strikes a practical balance of sight radius and handling.
Sighting equipment is fully adjustable, with a pinned ramped front blade and an adjustable micrometer rear sight. The checkered rib and topstrap complement the sight picture by reducing reflections for clear alignment.
The revolver is configured with a wide, serrated target trigger and a wide, checkered hammer spur, pairing well with the double-action/single-action mechanism. Its six-shot fluted cylinder is chambered in .357 Magnum, and capacity is 6 rounds.
Produced in 1979–1980, this 27-2 represents the classic configuration with direct lineage to the original 1935 Registered Magnum. Correct factory rollmarks are present, including SMITH & WESSON, .357 MAGNUM, MADE IN U.S.A., and MOD. 27-2.
