The XD-E series pairs a slim 1.0 in grip width with DA/SA, hammer-fired operation, giving users a low-profile carry pistol with second-strike capability and an external spurred hammer. The ambidextrous frame-mounted safety/decocker supports both right- and left-handed operation and allows cocked-and-locked or decocked carry.
The 3.3" hammer-forged steel barrel features a Melonite finish and a 1:10 twist. The slide is finished in black Melonite and includes rear cocking serrations. A dual captive recoil spring with a full-length guide rod is used.
Sight configuration consists of a fiber-optic front sight paired with a fixed rear sight. The front sight offers a bright, high-visibility aiming point.
Capacity is 9+1 with the included stainless single-stack Springfield factory magazines (one 8-round and one 9-round). The base pad on the magazines is marked "XD-S 9/40" as observed. The polymer frame uses Springfield's Grip Zone texturing. Markings include "GENESEO, IL • MADE IN CROATIA." Overall length is approximately 6.75 in, unloaded weight is about 24.8 oz, and the model designation is XDE9339BE. This XD-E configuration was discontinued by 2022.
