The V1 control layout places the safety/decocker on the left side of the frame, pairing with a DA/SA action and a spurred hammer for familiar USP handling. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release is intuitive and accessible from either side.
Construction is centered on a one-piece machined steel slide with HK's HE Hostile Environment nitrocarburized finish and a fiber-reinforced polymer frame with steel inserts. The short-recoil, linkless modified Browning locking system underpins the USP design for robust operation.
The 4.41 in cold hammer forged barrel uses polygonal rifling. Sight acquisition is straightforward thanks to fixed 3-dot tritium night sights, with a Meprolight Tru-Dot tritium rear and a tritium front. Sight radius is 6.34 in.
This full-size .45 ACP has a 10+1 capacity and proprietary USP accessory grooves (non-Picatinny). It was manufactured in 2022 in Germany, carries C.I.P. proof marks (CIP N and DE), and was imported by HKI in Columbus, GA.
