The Onyx Special Edition treatment features a polished black PVD slide with decorative scroll-and-border engraving and factory legends reading "ONYX" and "SPECIAL Kimber EDITION." The slide uses rear cocking serrations only, maintaining the clean engraved flats.
Its satin silver aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight low while complementing the dark slide finish. Thin, ball-milled G10 grips provide a slim profile consistent with the Ultra-format 1911, and a skeletonized Commander-style spur hammer completes the package.
The 3-inch stainless steel bushingless bull barrel uses a coned muzzle and a captured recoil system. This subcompact Ultra II is single-action only with a solid trigger, combining compact dimensions with the familiar 1911 manual of arms.
Fixed 3-dot tritium night sights (Tactical Wedge) include a white-outline tritium front and tritium rear. Safety features include an ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, and Series II Swartz-type firing pin block. Standard capacity is 7+1, with an approximate overall length of 6.8 inches and weight around 25 ounces. Made in the USA.
