The P229 Legion pairs a stainless-steel slide with an aluminum-alloy frame, both finished in Legion Gray PVD for durability and a uniform appearance. It operates on a recoil-operated, locked-breech system, and offers a 15+1 capacity in 9mm.
This DA/SA configuration includes a decocker and SIG's Short Reset Trigger (SRT) for fast, consistent trigger recovery. A spurred hammer, front-strap checkering, undercut trigger guard, contoured beavertail, and a mildly beveled magazine well round out the Legion control and handling package.
Sight regulation and visibility are handled by tritium night sights: a green front tritium dot paired with a square-notch rear sight featuring two tritium lamps. The slide has front and rear serrations for confident manipulation.
Accessory mounting is supported by a three-slot 1913 rail on the dust cover. The pistol wears textured black grips with Legion medallions, and displays factory markings including SIG SAUER P229, 9mm x 19, SIG SAUER INC., NEWINGTON-NH-USA, and the Legion logo/wordmark.
