The CW9 is a compact, striker-fired DAO pistol built on Kahr's locked-breech Browning-type system. It uses a smooth, curved DAO trigger and a passive striker block for secure, consistent operation.
Dimensioned for carry, it measures 5.9 in overall length and 4.5 in height, with a 0.90 in slide width and an unloaded weight of 15.8 oz. The single-stack magazine provides a 7+1 capacity in 9mm Luger.
The two-tone configuration combines a matte stainless slide with a black polymer frame. The slide includes rear cocking serrations, a beveled front, and an external extractor. The molded grip features textured panels with the Kahr 'K' medallion and checkering on both the front and back straps.
White bar-dot combat sights include a pinned polymer front with white dot and a drift-adjustable rear with a vertical white bar. CW Value-Series elements include conventional rifling, a pinned polymer front sight, simplified slide machining/markings, and an MIM slide stop. Minimalist controls consist of a left-side slide stop and magazine release.
