The M&P45 M2.0 Compact pairs a 4.0-inch stainless steel barrel with an Armornite-treated stainless slide for corrosion-resistant durability. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 10+1 capacity, it brings the M2.0 feature set to a compact .45 platform with a low bore axis and an 18-degree grip angle.
Controls are modern and practical: an ambidextrous slide stop and a reversible magazine release accommodate varied shooter preferences. This specific configuration has no thumb safety. The M2.0 trigger uses a hinged design with a tactile, audible reset.
The frame uses an aggressive M2.0 grip texture and accepts interchangeable palm-swell backstraps to fine-tune fit. Steel 3-dot sights provide a clear sight picture, and the slide includes front and rear serrations with a fish-scale pattern for confident manipulation.
An integral 3-slot Picatinny-style accessory rail supports common light or laser attachments. Notable markings include a barrel hood marked "45 AUTO," a right-side slide legend "SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA U.S.A.," and a slide warning "CAUTION – CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED." The barrel uses a 1:15 twist and the pistol is made in the United States.
