The P227 is the double-stack .45 ACP entry in SIG’s Classic P-Series, introduced in 2013 and discontinued by 2019. This example is a full-size model with a 4.4-inch barrel and a 10+1 capacity, delivering the familiar P-Series ergonomics in a higher-capacity .45 ACP configuration.
Its operating system is DA/SA, hammer-fired, and short-recoil, locked-breech. The controls include a decocking lever positioned ahead of the slide catch. The slide has rear serrations only, and the frame integrates a 3-slot accessory rail.
The dovetailed tritium 3-dot night sights provide a clear sight picture, with the rear unit marked "MH3" and "AM." Sight radius is 6.3 inches. The Nitron black finish complements the textured black polymer grips on the alloy frame.
Factory markings include "SIG SAUER P227" on the slide, ".45 AUTO" over "SIG" on the barrel hood, and "SIG SAUER INC. EXETER–NH–USA" on the frame. The factory case label is dated October 22, 2013 and lists the SKU "227R-45-BSS," which matches the pistol’s part number. The included Italian-made, steel, double-column magazines feature 10-round witness holes.
