Built on the respected K-frame, the Model 19-8 pairs .357 Magnum performance with a manageable 4-inch barrel and a 6-shot fluted cylinder. It operates in double-action/single-action and is chambered for .357 Magnum while also accepting .38 Special.
The barrel is carbon steel with a partial underlug and a serrated top rib to reduce glare. A knurled ejector-rod tip aids positive extraction, and the polished blued finish presents a classic S&W appearance.
Sighting is precise and user-adjustable, with a micrometer-adjustable rear sight and a ramped front sight featuring a red insert. The revolver uses a smooth-faced trigger and an exposed hammer with a checkered spur for confident cocking.
The frame and cylinder are carbon steel with a polished blued finish, and the frame is pre-lock with no internal key lock. Black synthetic wraparound grips with finger grooves provide a secure, hand-filling hold. This example aligns with S&W product code/mfg part number 100705 and was made in the USA in 2008.
