The metal-frame construction uses 7075-T6 aluminum alloy for the full-size grip and chassis, paired with a black-finished slide and frame. Dimensions are approximately 7.4 in OAL, 5.5 in height, and 1.3 in width, with an unloaded weight of about 30.0 oz. The slide is marked Maryville, TN U.S.A., and the ejection port hood is marked 9MM.
The 4.25 in stainless-steel barrel features S&W's Armornite finish. The slide includes front and rear serrations and a factory optics cut in the CORE pattern with a cover plate installed, allowing the owner to mount optics using the included plate and screw kit if desired.
Factory steel 3-dot tritium night sights (TG-H3 front and rear) are dovetailed into the slide, offering a 6.5 in sight radius. The accessory rail is a 3-slot Picatinny design for mounting compatible lights or accessories.
The striker-fired system uses a flat-face trigger with a center safety lever and revised sear geometry. Controls include a reversible magazine release and a trigger safety; there is no external manual thumb safety on this configuration.
Grip texture is the aggressive M2.0 pattern, and the interchangeable palmswell system provides four sizes total; three additional inserts are included to tailor the fit. The three included 17-round steel magazines have witness holes along the spine.
