Built in the JM-era at Marlin’s North Haven facility, this 336XLR represents the stainless, long-barrel configuration of the 336 line. The XLR setup pairs a 24-inch barrel with a forend-cap fore-end and a shortened magazine tube (no barrel bands), delivering the series’ distinctive profile and balance.
The stainless steel barrel uses deep-cut Ballard-style rifling and a 1:12 RH twist, well-suited to traditional .30-30 loads. A precision-crowned muzzle supports consistent performance, and capacity is 4+1. The bore condition is excellent, with sharp lands and grooves.
The receiver is stainless with a satin finish and is drilled and tapped. A one-piece scope rail and 1-inch rings are already installed. The rifle is equipped with a folding semi-buckhorn rear sight, and a cross-bolt safety is fitted to the action.
The grey/black laminated hardwood stock and matching fore-end add rigidity and weather resistance. Stock features include a pistol-grip profile, fluted comb, cut checkering, rubber recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. Length of pull is 13.5 inches.
