    This first-generation Contender G1 stands out with its 10" ported .44 Magnum barrel, blued carbon-steel frame, and factory TC cougar-over-globe scroll engraving. Built in 1988 in the USA, it combines classic walnut furniture and open sights with the Contender's hallmark break-open action and modular, switch-barrel design.

    The Contender G1 uses a break-open, single-shot action with a trigger-guard opening lever for quick loading and unloading.     This configuration is chambered in .44 Magnum with a 10" carbon-steel barrel featuring visible muzzle porting to help manage recoil. Open sights include an adjustable rear and a ramped, serrated front blade for a clear sight picture.

    Walnut furniture completes the classic Contender look, with a checkered walnut forend and a one-piece walnut pistol grip that incorporates a black rubber backstrap insert. The buttcap carries the TC medallion, tying together the period-correct details.
