Sako A-I Vixen Standard Sporter .223 Rem Bolt-Action Rifle, 23.5 in Barrel, Polished Steel Barrel/Blue Receiver, Walnut Monte Carlo Stock (1989–1991)
This late-production Sako A-I Vixen Standard Sporter in .223 Rem was built in Riihimäki, Finland circa 1989–1991. It features a 23.5 in polished steel (in-the-white) sporter barrel with a recessed crown, a blued steel receiver, and a walnut Monte Carlo stock with right-hand shadow-line cheekpiece. A set of Sako 1-inch dovetail scope rings is installed. Overall condition is very good, and the bore is clean with excellent rifling.

Built on Sako's A-I short action (late A-I/L461 period), this Vixen Standard Sporter uses a right-hand bolt with a polished in-the-white bolt body and a blued bolt handle. The blued steel receiver and overall fit and finish reflect Finnish production standards from the era.
The 23.5 in polished steel (in-the-white) sporter-profile barrel ends in a recessed crown, and the rifle is chambered in .223 Rem. It is configured without sights. The single-stage, adjustable trigger provides a clean break suitable for precise shot placement.
Feeding is through an internal box magazine with a 5+1 capacity. A hinged floorplate with a push-button release facilitates safe unloading and easy access.
The walnut Monte Carlo stock is set up for right-handed use with a shadow-line cheekpiece. Cut checkering and a checkered pistol grip offer a secure hold. An orange Sako logo recoil pad with black spacer and factory sling swivel studs complete the stock features. Length of pull measures 14.0 in.
Barrel and receiver markings include the Finnish proof mark and a "MADE IN FINLAND" barrel marking. This example was produced in Riihimäki during the final A-I run circa 1989–1991, just before Sako transitioned to the 491-series. Sako 1-inch rings are already installed, making it straightforward to mount your 1-inch scope.
