This full-size .22 LR bolt-action rifle is the Ruger Precision Rimfire, factory Model 8400. It features the Big-Gun adjustable bolt throw (1.5 in or 3 in) to simulate centerfire cycling and an oversized bolt knob. The receiver is marked Mayodan, NC – USA, and the rifle is made in the USA.
The 18-inch barrel is 1137 alloy steel with a target-profile, heavy contour. It is cold hammer-forged for consistency and threaded 1/2x28 for muzzle devices, with a factory thread protector installed. The twist rate is 1:16 RH.
Controls and ergonomics are built for repeatable precision. The Ruger Marksman Adjustable trigger is externally adjustable from 2.25 to 5.0 lb. Safety is a two-position thumb design with a 45-degree reversible configuration. Capacity is 15+1, and the rifle accepts Ruger 10/22 magazines.
The chassis/stock is glass-filled nylon, paired with an AR-pattern pistol grip, while the receiver is CNC-machined from pre-hardened 4140 chrome-moly steel. The Quick-Fit adjustable buttstock offers tool-less length-of-pull and cheekpiece adjustments with locking knobs. Up front is a 15-inch free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard with slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions (solid at 12 o’clock), and the rifle includes a factory-installed 30-MOA Picatinny scope base. No sights are fitted.
