What's Included
- Thompson Center Hawken .50 caliber percussion rifle
The Hawken is built around a blued, octagonal steel barrel measuring 28 inches, paired with an under-rib and two ramrod pipes. Its 1:48 twist is well-suited for a broad range of .50 caliber projectile types, and the hooked breech/takedown design allows the barrel to be removed from the stock for straightforward maintenance.
The percussion caplock action is matched with T/C's double-set triggers, providing a crisp and adjustable trigger experience. The rifle is configured as a single-shot muzzleloader with a 14.0-inch length of pull, delivering a traditional handling profile.
The walnut half-stock includes a left-side cheekpiece and brass furniture throughout, including the patchbox, trigger guard, nose cap, wedge-key escutcheons, and crescent buttplate. The lock is color case-hardened, and the lockplate and hammer feature factory-applied scroll engraving that complements the Hawken's period-inspired styling.
Sighting is handled by open iron sights: a dovetailed steel front blade and an adjustable open rear with an elevation slide. Barrel and frame markings read: "THOMPSON | CENTER ARMS • ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE • .50 CAL. HAWKEN." and "BLACK POWDER ONLY – DO NOT USE SMOKELESS POWDER." This rifle was made in the USA.
