The FNX-45 Tactical is a full-size .45 ACP built around a DA/SA, short-recoil, hammer-fired system with an external ring-style hammer. Its black polymer frame hosts fully ambidextrous controls, including the manual safety/decocker, slide stop, and magazine release, making operation consistent for both right- and left-handed users. An accessory rail on the dustcover supports lights or lasers as needed.
The 5.3-inch stainless-steel barrel is cold hammer-forged, extended, and threaded .578x28 RH, with a knurled thread protector installed. A polished chamber and feed ramp support reliable feeding, and the suppressor-height fixed 3-dot night sights provide a clear sight picture.
The stainless-steel slide wears a black finish and features an optic cut with a cover plate, plus front and rear cocking serrations. An external extractor incorporates a loaded-chamber indicator for quick status checks. FN MRD optics mounting plates are included for direct mounting of compatible optics.
Capacity is 15+1 rounds of .45 ACP, and this pistol includes four 15-round magazines.
