The PPK/S pairs the PP-length frame with the PPK top end to meet the 1968 U.S. import points test, delivering a 7+1 capacity in a compact, 6.1 in overall length profile. It measures 4.3 in in height, 1.0 in in width, and weighs approximately 23.6 oz. The black checkered synthetic grips carry the Walther banner.
Its straight-blowback, DA/SA action uses a fixed barrel and an external hammer. Controls include a left-side, push-button magazine release and a slide-mounted safety/decocker with a red fire index dot.
The slide features rear vertical serrations and a wave-pattern anti-glare rib. Sights are integrated and fixed, with a front blade and a fixed rear notch for quick visual alignment. The overall finish is black.
Markings are correct for current-generation production: the left slide reads "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. Mod. PPK/S Cal. 9mm kurz / .380 ACP," the right slide reads "WALTHER ARMS, INC. FORT SMITH, AR USA," and the barrel hood is marked "380 ACP." Magazines are factory steel, single-stack units stamped "Cal.
9mm kurz" with witness holes numbered to 7. Slides are sourced from Ulm, Germany, with final assembly in Fort Smith, Arkansas, USA. Walther announced a production pause for the PPK/PPK/S/PP family in November 2025.
