The AOS slide uses a removable rear-sight plate secured by two Torx screws, with a black serrated rear sight installed on the plate and a dovetailed white-dot front blade. This setup provides a clean, practical sight picture and the flexibility of the AOS interface as configured by Springfield.
The 4.25-inch stainless-steel barrel is Commander-length and built with a traditional bushing system. It is ramped and fully supported, with a barrel hood marked "S.A. .45AUTO." A GI-style short guide rod and plug keep the recoil system classic and serviceable.
The forged carbon-steel slide and forged lightweight aluminum frame are finished in black. Front and rear cocking serrations aid manipulation, while the ejection port is lowered and flared. An integral 3-slot Picatinny-style rail on the dust cover supports common weaponlights or accessories.
Controls and ergonomics include an ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety with raised memory pad, checkered frontstrap and mainspring housing, a flared/beveled magazine well, a 3-hole aluminum trigger, and a skeletonized hammer. Textured tan G10 grip panels with a hex pattern are installed for a secure hold.
