The Scout Carbine uses an inline percussion system with a rear-centered nipple designed for No. 11 percussion caps. Its tang-mounted, serrated striker cocking piece streamlines operation without an external side hammer, keeping the top of the rifle clear.
The 21 in round blued steel barrel pairs with open iron sights: a ramped front blade and a drift-adjustable rear leaf with a stepped elevator. The installed receiver scope base and 1-inch scope rings allow mounting a scope; depending on the specific setup, the mounting hardware may affect access to or visibility of the iron sights.
The hardwood stock features a straight grip and sling swivel studs for carry. Traditional brass alloy accents include the trigger guard, a single barrel band, and a TC-monogrammed buttplate. A full-length under-barrel ramrod is carried in place for loading and maintenance.
