What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Shield 1.0 9mm pistol
- One 8-round S&W factory steel single-stack magazine
- One 7-round S&W factory steel single-stack magazine
The Shield 1.0 configuration here deletes both the external manual thumb safety and the magazine disconnect, allowing the pistol to fire with the magazine removed. It uses a striker-fired action and Smith & Wesson's hinged, two-piece trigger safety.
Its micro-size profile and 3.1-inch barrel keep the package slim and easy to manage. The single-column magazine system supports an 8+1 maximum capacity, and this example includes both the 7-round and 8-round factory magazines.
The slide and barrel are steel, while the frame is polymer with an integrated, textured backstrap for secure purchase. Slide manipulation is aided by rear, wavy-style serrations; there are no front serrations.
Sighting is straightforward with fixed, low-profile, dovetailed three-dot irons (front and rear). The dust cover has no accessory rail. Made in the United States.
