The Mark IV Competition configuration delivers a rigid, stainless-steel platform with a 6.88 in slab-sided bull barrel. The cold hammer-forged barrel uses 6 grooves with a 1:16 RH twist, and the internal cylindrical bolt, simple blowback action is proven for clean, consistent .22 LR cycling. Its full-size build measures 11.12 in overall and weighs 45.8 oz.
Sighting is versatile. The pistol retains a fixed black blade front sight and a fully adjustable rear notch, while the installed Ultradot Matchdot II adds a selectable 2–4 MOA red dot. The optic is mounted on a receiver Picatinny-style rail with rings, and the receiver is drilled and tapped from the factory.
Ergonomics and controls are purpose-driven. The aftermarket anatomical wood target grips with a palm shelf provide a hand-filling, repeatable hold. Controls include a left-side push-button magazine release and an ambidextrous manual safety. Capacity is 10+1, and four 10-round magazines are included.
Ruger’s one-button takedown design simplifies routine maintenance. This example was manufactured in 2018 in the USA (mfg part number 40112) and is not subject to the Ruger Mark IV safety recall that affected pistols produced before June 1, 2017.
