The A3 configuration features a flat-top Picatinny upper with a detachable carry handle using an A2 rear sight marked 6/3, paired with a fixed A2 front sight base and square post. This setup provides the classic A2 sight picture on a modern flat-top receiver.
The steel HBAR uses a 1:9 twist and is barrel-marked "B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 H BAR." It employs an 11.5-inch barrel with a permanently attached approximately 5.5-inch three-slot muzzle device to meet the 16-inch legal barrel length. A carbine-length gas system is used.
Furniture includes a fixed A2 polymer stock with a trap-door compartment, a checkered buttplate, and a rear sling loop, along with an A2 pistol grip. The carbine-length, two-piece ribbed polymer handguard completes the classic carbine layout, and a fixed A2 front sling swivel is fitted.
The aluminum receiver set wears a matte black finish and incorporates a forward assist, brass deflector, and an ejection-port dust cover. It uses the STANAG magazine interface for broad magazine compatibility and is marked "B.F.I. WINDHAM, ME. U.S.A." Capacity is 30+1 with 5.56 NATO ammunition.
