The receiver is the heavier 1.5 mm stamped Zastava pattern with a bulged RPK-style front trunnion and smooth top cover. Marked ZASTAVA ARMS MADE IN SERBIA, it reflects current Serbian production and uses a right-side Yugoslav/Serbian-pattern optics side rail.
The 16.3 in barrel is cold hammer forged, chrome-lined, and threaded. A short muzzle device is retained by the front-sight-base detent, and the gas system is the traditional long-stroke piston with a rotating bolt.
Iron sights include a protected front post with windage drum and a tangent rear leaf graduated 100–1000 m. English SAFE/FIRE selector markings are present, and the safety lever incorporates a bolt-hold-open notch as described in the ZPAPM70 manual.
