Built on Colt's E-frame, this Official Police uses a double-action/single-action mechanism with a swing-out, six-shot fluted cylinder. It incorporates the Colt Positive Lock and pairs a smooth trigger with an exposed hammer featuring a checkered spur.
The 4 inch round tapered carbon-steel barrel includes a matted top rib and fixed service sights: a serrated ramp front blade and a square-notch rear in the topstrap. Barrel legends identify the model and caliber.
Construction is all blued carbon steel across the frame, cylinder, and receiver, with an unshrouded ejector rod that has a knurled tip. Checkered walnut service stocks with Colt medallions complete the period-correct service configuration.
Made in the United States in 1950, this revolver represents Colt's post-WWII service revolver line. Inspector/assembly marks are present on the crane cut.
