The Mark III Target configuration centers on accuracy and shootability. This example uses a 6 7/8 inch tapered steel barrel and a blued steel receiver, paired with fully adjustable target sights. The front sight is a pinned, undercut square-blade (Partridge-style), and the rear is fully adjustable for precise zeroing.
Controls reflect the Mark III generation. It has a button-style magazine release located behind the trigger guard on the left side, a manual thumb safety, a left-side loaded chamber indicator, and a magazine disconnect safety. The action is classic blowback-operated with a single-action trigger.
The top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped and fitted with three filler screws. A Ruger magazine loading tool is included in a sealed package.
Ergonomics are enhanced by wraparound black rubber finger-groove grips with a molded Ruger logo. Capacity is 10+1 rounds of .22 LR. This pistol is the MKIII678 configuration (catalog code MKIII678) and was manufactured in the United States in 2006.
