This PR-57 uses a short-recoil, rotating-barrel system tailored to the 5.7x28mm cartridge. Its internal, top-loading magazine is designed to be charged with stripper clips and is set for a 10-round capacity, offering a unique approach to loading and layout.
Built around a micro-size profile, the pistol emphasizes carryable dimensions: an overall length of 7.16 in, a height of 4.95 in, and an unloaded weight of approximately 14.0 oz. The slide is exceptionally slim at about 0.937 in, contributing to the compact feel while maintaining a 4.64 in barrel and a 1:7 in twist.
The polymer frame wears a black finish with KelTec Gator Grip-style texturing for secure purchase. Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a fixed white-dot front post and a fixed square-notch rear molded into the top cover. The top assembly features a narrow cylindrical profile with concentric ring grooves and a large open-top loading/ejection port.
An integral dust-cover accessory rail with two slots supports common add-ons. The right-side serial plate is marked Rock Springs, WY with a bison icon, and the pistol is made in the USA. This example includes the original box, an optic mounting plate, and PR-57 loading clips, aligning with the model’s distinctive top-loading design.
