The AXIS II XP configuration delivers a turnkey setup in .308 Win with features aimed at consistent accuracy. The 22-inch carbon steel barrel is button-rifled and finished in matte black with an unthreaded sporter profile. Savage’s thread-in headspacing and floating bolt head are designed to promote concentric alignment and solid lockup.
The AccuTrigger is user-adjustable and incorporates a blade safety, working in tandem with a two-position tang safety. A 1:10 RH twist supports a broad range of .308 bullet weights. The rifle uses a short-action detachable box magazine with a 4+1 capacity; the magazine body is stamped "STC SHORT."
This package includes a Bushnell 3-9x40mm 1" SFP BDC Scope (Banner series), mounted on a one-piece Picatinny rail with rings. The 1-inch tube and BDC reticle provide a practical sight picture for hunting or range work, and the optic is already installed for immediate use. There are no iron sights.
The synthetic stock is finished in tan/FDE with molded texture, a straight comb, and a recoil pad for comfort. Sling swivel studs are installed for easy carry. Length of pull is 13.75 inches. The receiver is carbon steel with a matte black finish, matching the barrel, and the rifle is made in the USA.
