This USP Compact is the 9mm Variant 1 configuration, combining a DA/SA trigger with a left-side frame-mounted safety/decocker. The ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release is intuitive and fast to access. Fixed 3-dot sights and rear slide serrations support straightforward sighting and manipulation, with a measured sight radius of 5.35 inches.
German proof marks include the eagle over N nitro proof and the Ulm stag-antler, with the "KG" date code for 1996. The slide is marked "HK USP COMPACT 9mmx19" and the frame reads "Heckler & Koch GmbH – Made in Germany," with the right grip panel molded "pat. pend." The pistol bears the import mark "Heckler & Koch, Inc – Sterling, VA." Slide, barrel, and frame have matching serial numbers.
