The PF-9 is a micro-size, single-stack 9mm built around a 3.1 in barrel and a slim profile that measures 0.88 in wide and 5.85 in long. Unloaded weight is just 12.7 oz, and standard capacity is 7+1 rounds. The slide locks open after the last round.
Its action is DAO, hammer-fired with a long pull, using a short-recoil locked-breech design. Safety features include an internal hammer block and the inherent characteristics of the long double-action-only trigger. The hammer is exposed and partially shrouded, and the magazine release is on the left side.
Construction highlights include a 4140 steel barrel and an internal 7075-T6 aluminum chassis housed in a polymer grip shell. Kel-Tec's 'gator grip' texture provides purchase on the grip. An accessory rail is integrated for mounting compatible lights or accessories.
The sighting system uses a fixed front blade with a single white dot and a square-notch rear that is adjustable for windage via a 5/64 in Allen screw. The PF-9 is made in the USA and accepts SAAMI-spec 9mm +P ammunition, with the factory advising against continuous use of +P loads.
