The Alaskan configuration pairs a short 2.5-inch barrel with an extended frame/ejector shroud, delivering a compact profile with the Super Redhawk’s renowned build. Its six-shot fluted cylinder is engineered with a triple-locking design, and the revolver is dual-chambered to also fire .44 Special.
Construction is all stainless steel with a satin stainless finish across the frame, cylinder, receiver, and barrel. The barrel is cold hammer-forged with a 1:20 RH twist and six-groove rifling, delivering crisp internal geometry.
The action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer and checkered spur, and it uses Ruger’s transfer-bar safety system. A Hogue Tamer Monogrip in black rubber with finger grooves and an internal recoil cushion provides a secure, controllable hold.
Sighting is via iron sights: a pinned ramp front sight with insert and a fully adjustable rear sight. Overall length is 7.62 inches, weight is 45 oz, and capacity is 6 rounds. Made in the USA; this example is the Ruger catalog number 5303.
