The XD-9 Sub-Compact uses a forged steel slide and barrel treated with Melonite for a black, corrosion-resistant finish, paired with a polymer frame. Its 3-inch barrel and sub-compact profile deliver a short overall length while maintaining a double-stack 13+1 capacity.
Controls include an ambidextrous magazine release, a grip safety, a trigger safety lever, and both a loaded-chamber indicator and a striker-status indicator. The slide features a top-mounted loaded-chamber indicator and a rear striker-status indicator for quick visual and tactile checks.
Sight configuration is straightforward and durable: a fixed, dovetailed white-dot front sight and a fixed, dovetailed rear sight. The installed Crimson Trace trigger-guard red laser provides an additional aiming reference without altering the factory sights. An accessory rail is integrated into the frame.
This model is compatible with full-size XD 9mm magazines for extended capacity options. It ships with a 13-round flush-fit steel magazine with witness holes and includes Springfield Armory XD Gear accessories. The case label shows code XD9801HCSP06, matching the listed manufacturer part number.
