The 2-inch barrel and short underlug keep the 856 compact and easy to handle, while the matte black finish on the frame and cylinder provides a uniform, low-glare appearance. The ejector rod has a knurled tip and partial shroud for positive operation.
Sighting is straightforward with the AmeriGlo H3 orange-outline pinned ramp front sight paired to a fixed, integral topstrap rear notch. This setup offers a bright, defined front reference with a durable rear.
The revolver operates in double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer spur for controlled cocking when desired. A push-forward, checkered cylinder latch and a fluted cylinder complete the classic control layout.
The installed blue/black laminated G10-style two-piece grip panels, secured by a through-bolt/Chicago screw, add finger grooves and a palm swell for a secure hold. The original factory grips are included for those who prefer the factory configuration. Markings include Taurus Int’l Mfg, Bainbridge, GA, and Taurus Armas – Made in Brazil.
