The EMP 4 Lightweight Champion is purpose-built around a shortened, 9mm-optimized 1911 action. Its proprietary EMP magazines and reduced-dimension architecture decrease grip circumference while maintaining a 10+1 capacity, delivering a compact feel without sacrificing control.
The 4 in stainless steel, match-grade bull barrel includes a fully supported ramp, a bushingless setup with a full-length guide rod, and a loaded-chamber witness port. A 1:16 RH twist supports a wide range of 9mm loads. The single-action operation is paired with a skeletonized, three-hole trigger and a skeletonized Commander-style hammer.
The forged aluminum alloy frame wears a hard-coat anodized black finish, matched to a satin stainless slide for a clean two-tone look. Grip control is enhanced by aggressive frontstrap and mainspring housing texturing, plus checkered wood grips with a laser-etched Springfield Armory crossed-cannon logo. An ambidextrous thumb safety and a beavertail grip safety with memory bump provide positive, familiar 1911 controls.
Fast, clear sighting comes from a dovetailed fiber-optic front (orange) and a low-profile white-dot rear, both set low and secure. The EMP 4 Lightweight Champion ships with six factory EMP 9mm magazines, its labeled hard case, and the original operator's manual.
