This pre-WWII Colt Woodsman Match Target "Bullseye" is a First Series example from 1939 with the long, heavy flat-sided 6.5 barrel and classic blued finish. It features the fixed-barrel, straight-blowback target design, crisp target sights, and period-correct Match Target markings. A custom one-piece ivory-colored wraparound target grip with a right-hand thumbrest is installed, and two 10-round magazines are included.
The First Series Match Target is identifiable by its heavy, flat-sided barrel and dedicated target configuration. This example retains the core features that made the model a staple on the bullseye line, including a fixed barrel for stability and a single-action, hammer-fired mechanism tuned for precision work.
The pistol uses a straight-blowback action with manual thumb safety and rear vertical slide serrations. Sighting is via a target-style front sight and a fully adjustable square-notch rear, supporting fine point-of-impact adjustments for target shooting. The frame and slide are blued carbon steel, consistent with early factory finish and construction.
Factory markings include the left-side "MATCH TARGET" legend with bullseye emblem and "THE WOODSMAN" on the frame, plus the slide legend "COLT AUTOMATIC CAL. .22 LONG RIFLE" with the Rampant Colt. The top of the barrel is stamped "COLT'S P.T.F.A. MFG. CO.

A one-piece ivory-colored carved wraparound grip with a floral pattern and right-hand thumbrest is installed, providing a pronounced target hold; it bears no Colt medallions.
