This Model 657 is the desirable no-dash variant, confirmed by the yoke stamp, and built on the stainless N-frame. It is chambered in .41 Rem. Mag., holds six rounds, and uses a 6-inch barrel for a balanced full-size configuration. The pre-lock frame aligns with the 1980s production era noted for this model.
The stainless barrel has a partial underlug/ejector-rod shroud and a serrated top rib. Sight regulation is handled by a ramped front sight paired with a micrometer-adjustable rear sight, providing a precise iron-sight setup.
Its action is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer featuring a wide, checkered spur, and a smooth-faced trigger. The cylinder has non-recessed charge holes and matches the brushed/satin stainless finish of the frame and barrel.
Factory markings include the 'MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS.' rollmark. Aftermarket Pachmayr Gripper rubber finger-groove stocks with S&W medallions are installed.
