The R1 configuration here follows the classic Government profile with a 5 inch barrel that uses a standard bushing. The barrel hood is marked ".45 AUTO," and the ejection port is lowered and flared for improved case clearance. The slide wears vertical rear serrations only, maintaining a traditional look and solid purchase.
Controls are true to the 1911 platform: single-action operation with a left-side manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a Series 80-style firing pin block. It uses a solid, medium-length, non-skeletonized silver trigger and a non-skeletonized spur hammer. The frame features an arched mainspring housing and a GI-style grip safety.
Sighting is straightforward and serviceable with dovetailed fixed 3-dot sights: a white-dot front and a two-dot rear. The frame is clean with no accessory rail, and the Huntsville, Alabama rollmark confirms U.S. manufacture.
