What's Included
- Original manual
The Model 83 Field Grade is a 5-shot, single-action-only revolver built on a large stainless steel frame, chambered in .454 Casull. It uses an unfluted, 5-chamber cylinder with stop notches positioned between chambers for added security. Loading is through a right-side loading gate, and ejection is handled by a full-length under-barrel ejector-rod housing with a knurled ejector rod head.
The revolver wears a 7.5" heavy round barrel marked with a two-line legend: "FREEDOM ARMS 454 CASULL" over "FREEDOM, WYOMING U.S.A." Sighting is via a ramp front with a black square blade and a fully adjustable rear sight set in a silver base, providing precise elevation and windage control.
Construction is all stainless steel with a satin/brushed presentation on the frame, cylinder, and receiver. Ergonomics and controls include a smooth, curved trigger and a wide, serrated hammer spur. The grip panels are black checkered rubber with Freedom Arms medallions for a solid, consistent hold.
Factory markings include "FREEDOM ARMS FIELD GRADE" on the frame and "PAT. NO. 4,128,953" on the frame. This example was manufactured in the United States in 1991 in Freedom, Wyoming, and is configured as a robust, stainless 5-shot .454 Casull revolver with adjustable iron sights.
