- Stevens Model 59A .410 Bore bolt-action shotgun
The Model 59A is a right-hand bolt-action .410 with a straight bolt handle and round knob. It features a tube-fed under-barrel magazine with a knurled front cap and a barrel/magazine band, delivering a stated 5+1 capacity. The front bead sight provides a simple, durable aiming reference with no rear sight.
The 24 inch carbon steel barrel and blued carbon steel receiver give this shotgun a straightforward, work-ready configuration. The barrel is marked with the Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts address, and the gun carries a "PROOF TESTED" stamp.
Stock furniture is plain hardwood with a straight-comb buttstock and a shorter forend that stops well behind the barrel/magazine band and knurled magazine cap, leaving several inches of the magazine tube and barrel exposed toward the muzzle. A rectangular brass-colored insert is visible on the underside of the forend. Length of pull measures 14.0 inches, and the trigger guard is metal.
The 59A chambers both 2.5 inch and 3 inch .410 shells, offering flexibility in load selection. No serial number is observed (serial exempt), consistent with older production practices.
