The 590M system uses proprietary double-stack detachable magazines, and this example includes a 10-round magazine for a 10+1 capacity. The chamber is 2 3/4 inch, and the barrel is a heavy-walled cylinder bore configuration for straightforward, choke-free operation.
The receiver is aluminum alloy with a matte black anodized finish and is drilled and tapped for optics bases, with four plug screws installed. It employs dual action bars, dual extractors, and a steel-to-steel lockup for positive cycling and extraction.
Sighting is simple and fast with a brass bead front sight and no rear sight. The ribbed polymer forend provides a secure grip, while the fixed black synthetic stock includes a ventilated recoil pad and a 14.0 inch length of pull.
Controls and handling are enhanced by the ambidextrous top-tang safety. Front and rear sling-swivel studs are installed. The overall finish is black, and the shotgun is made in the USA.
