What’s Included
- Mauser C96 New Safety, Wartime Commercial pistol (7.63mm Mauser)
Built by Waffenfabrik Mauser in Oberndorf, this C96 represents the New Safety, Wartime Commercial configuration produced circa 1917–1918. It retains the classic profile with a blued carbon-steel frame and receiver and two-piece grooved walnut grip panels.
The action is short-recoil, locked-breech and single-action only. It uses the New Safety pattern pivoting manual safety and the small-ring hammer associated with this period of production.
Feeding is via an integral, fixed 10-round internal magazine, loaded by stripper clip. Sights are the tangent ladder rear graduated 50–1000 meters and a fixed front blade. The backstrap is milled for a detachable wooden stock/holster and it is fitted with a lanyard ring.
Markings include the Crown over U German commercial proof and Oberndorf manufacturer legends. Major components show matching serial numbers with partial matches on small parts; one small part near the rear sight hinge is numbered 278. A KY IMPORTS LOU. KY import stamp is present.
