This Specialist Commander is a compact, Commander-length 1911 built on a forged stainless frame and slide with a matte/bead-blast finish. It uses a forged stainless, match-grade 4.25 inch barrel and a single-action operating system. The build is USA-made and marked "DAN WESSON FIREARMS NORWICH, NY U.S.A."
Duty features include an integral 1913 Picatinny light rail with three slots, rear slide cocking serrations, and a flat, serrated top rib. The Trijicon two-dot tritium night sights are ledge-style at the rear and are marked H3 17 (front) and H3 18 (rear).
Controls and ergonomics are comprehensive: ambidextrous thumb safeties, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, an extended magazine release, a medium-length solid trigger, and a skeletonized commander-style hammer. The front strap is 25 LPI checkered, and the mainspring housing is checkered with an undercut trigger guard for a secure purchase.
Reload support comes from a blended, detachable magazine well funnel. The pistol wears VZ Operator II G10 grip panels in a brown/black layered texture with star-logo medallions. Capacity is 10+1 with the included single-stack 9mm magazines.
