Carl Gustaf Gevär m/96 Swedish Mauser 6.5x55, 29 in Barrel, 1910, Numbers Matched
Produced in 1910 at Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori, this Gevär m/96 is a classic Swedish Mauser long rifle in 6.5x55 with its correct non-stepped 29 in barrel. It is numbers matched and marked with the factory crest and Swedish crown inspection stamps. The rifle retains its proper metric tangent rear sight and a height-coded +0.5 front blade, and it comes with an installed leather sling and full-length cleaning rod. The bore condition is excellent with sharp rifling.

The receiver ring is marked with the crowned C monogram over the CARL GUSTAFS STADS GEVÄRSFAKTORI crest and dated 1910, supported by additional Swedish crown inspection marks (e.g., crown/161, crown/245, crown/807). These factory and acceptance markings align with Swedish service production and provide clear provenance.
The rifle features the long, non-stepped 29 in barrel secured by two barrel bands. Sights are correct for the pattern: a tangent rear sight calibrated in meters and a square/partridge front blade height-coded +0.5. This configuration represents the standard long-rifle sighting system used with the 6.5x55 Swedish cartridge.
Built on the Mauser-pattern bolt action, it uses an internal 5-round magazine loaded by stripper clip. The safety is the classic three-position flag type. The magazine floorplate/trigger guard assembly is in-the-white, with the floorplate release located ahead of the trigger guard. This example is numbers matched.
The hardwood stock has grasping grooves and a brass stock disk, with a separate top handguard. Hardware includes a bayonet nose cap, a forward band with a left-side sling bar, and a bottom rear sling swivel. A full-length cleaning rod is installed, and a leather sling is included with the rifle.
